Couple days ago I updated this page documenting some rock experience. The first tune River Runner has some of my strongest rock drumming, so thought I'd share it here. It's all live stuff in one take. I also slaved over the particular yellow background color and still not sure it's right

Really liked that. Was that you singing lead ? The song had a Grateful Dead feel to it, and the chord structure sounded like something they would have used as well.

Drumming was perfect, and I believe that was the first time I've heard the word panacea used in a rock tune ! LOL Well done !

LOL re: panacea. That's an original tune by one of our Deadhead guitarists; the other guitarist is singing lead and I throw in some harmony at the end. At one time I did sing lead on that one, but we added a guitarist to the band and I sacrificed the tune knowing he'd sing it better and free myself at the kit. Thanks for making my day, Ted. You're one of the ten people on Earth to ever hear the recording! A couple months ago while in Chicago for my 30th high school reunion, we had a full band reunion one evening for the first time since I left town 12 years ago. It was a heartwarming blast and we still remembered harmonies!

A very nice, "loose jazzy approach" on the drums with some tasty fills on River Runner. Good work Keith!

Thanks, Anders, much appreciated and you pretty much nailed my general problem being too loose for lack of further direction . . . it's a strength, too, but also a weakness when I don't really hold it down properly. It's a matter of practice, the right composition at the kit and then sticking to it. The good news is I know where I'm going and supposed to be, so I'm gonna know when I get there.

I'm basically a rock drummer in a jazz costume (or vice-versa). If I only had half the groove you've forgotten, I might get somewhere! It's inch-by-inch for me with so little actual practice.

As stated above, that ain't me singing, but I used to sing while drumming this tune and it was not easy! I gave it up for sake of the song.

p.s.- I do sing/drum the second tune on the page, Miracle To Me, and wrote the lyrics; tambourine in my right and stick in my left.
