Years after the death of Tony Williams, I am being drawn to him even more, I have come to love this guy's playing, and i can't get enough of his videos, this guy was a genius, and I mean a genius. He had the ability to create and the ability to execute, all these years later, now I am beginning to study him. And now that I have been really looking at him up close and personal, I find him to be a really special drummer, and I mean special. Quote:Writer, comedian and rock drummer Andrew McGibbon, aka Andrew Paresi, tells the story of a 175-year-old cymbal and explores the history of the instrument. He traces the earliest cymbals from ancient Assyria and China, their development by Avedis Zildjian in Turkish military bands, to their arrival in Europe in the 1670s and their unlimited deployment by modern orchestral composers and jazz musicians. Andrew also discovers why cymbals became ...

Amazing they don't know who recorded this windfall "from half-inch three-track tapes mixed for stereo, made with stage microphones that pick up the nuances of the drums and the growls of the band members. They’re strong enough in some cases to deepen our understanding of canonical artists . . . "

And also Billy likes to space his toms, where as I or Don, likes ours close together.ow in the picture below, he does not space them as much, but most of the times he does. Too bad for those who wait to see what happens. I often receive so-called inspirational emails speaking toward what we should already be collectively. I'm frankly disappointed at the re-revelations from some as if nothing ever occurred among human-kind. What I was inspired to say some months ago, and now write, is:

Whatever you do, Prosper;

Wherever you go, Be Safe;

Whomever you're with, Be Real!

I posted some pics from Billy's stint here in the bay area for his Yoshi's performances. Working these shows with Billy is lots of work but is very gratifying and even more fun.

I'm putting up some rehearsal pics and some from the following day when we set up at the club for the opening show. I was not able to stay for that show as I had a gig myself that evening but I will be attending the shows for Saturday and Sunday and will TRY and get some pictures of the actual ...

The New Beatles Remastered CD's are Not good enough

the change is not enough

Fans want 5.1 sound.

Guy Massey and Alan Rouse (Engineers)

are to blame 100% for these current Beatles CD's.

They should have done a DTS 5.1 disc with each CD.

So now at Record Fairs I buy these DTS 5.1 discs

mastered onto DTS sound.

Revolver in DTS 5.1

is great.

They would not do DTS due to costs

so Now outsiders are making them in demand.

Great to see this Cool playing from way back in the Good Sound Days

of 1972.

Max has a Cool playing style.

Jeff Beck (guitar)

Clive Chaman (bass)

Max Middleton (piano)

Cozy Powell (drums: passed away)

Bob Tench (vocals: not shown)

Max did a LP in 1979

with Guitarist Robert Ahwai

called 'Another Sleeper'

Fusion Harvest /EMI label.

    I saw this on youtube today. It's from the Bagshow 2009 show from Paris. What astounds me, other than the superb buzz roll Boomer executes during the solo, is the depth of his snare. I mean it looks at least 12" deep if not 14". Of course it's hard to tell exactly from a video that was probably shot with a cell phone, but it looks huge to me. What do you guys think ?
