I traded a 1980's 22" Zildjan medium ride, and a Pearl marching snare drum for a 6 x14 Pearl snare drum and a 5x14 Ludwig snare. That Ludwig seems to have more attack and pop than my Pearl snare, my Sonor, snare my Premier snare I gave my Tama snare to the church. But this 1966-67 Ludwig wood snare is a winner. Ludwig has always made some of the best snares in the game. Now this 1966-67 snare has enough attack to stay in the game in 2011 this is one great snare. Those 2 holes you see on the side is where the internal muffler has been removed.

that looks like a beauty Spanky ! I love the color . I play a ludwig snare too called The Rocker which I bought in the 80's after my original Ludwig was stolen with my trap case. But they didn't get my Ludwig 1968 picollo snare which I still have. But I have to put the strainer back on one of these days as I used to use it as a tom-tom and removed it.

Peace, TED

Thanks guy's. But now after I tuned this Pearl 6.5x14 it sounds great it is the loudest drum that I have, it will cut through anything. I tuned it down some for a fatter sound and this snare is real sensitive I am also using a Remo damper ring on it, and it sounds perfect, this is not an expensive snare but it sounds very good.

I am pretty happy with my 5x14 Ludwig Black Beauty, Ludwig has been around the longest and
still makes great stuff... I also had a wood 8x14 in the 80's, that was pretty nice too.
Viva la Ludwig!!

Real soon Suss I promise you, the group that I have we sound good, but we are facing a minor setback which is being fixed by me and the manager. One of our guitar players had to go back to China because of a visa problems, but she will be back. And then our other guitar player's job put him on night shift, I was so mad I could have fainted, because this guy is a great guitarist and arranger, so we have to find another one, unless his job puts him back. I really want you guy's to hear us.

I'm doing research for my graphics class and I can't seem to dig up enough solid information. My assignment is creating a ad advertising vintage drums. I need more detail and usefull information here. Can someone give me suggestions as to where , who, what company, or sites I can further my research here.?

I would appreciat that.

D, I remember you having dialogue with a vintage drum technician? If you don't mind could you give me his website or email please. I would really appreciate that.

Thank you guys.

sincere regards,
rac
