This was a great line up from 1994, Boomer, Stanley, Najee, Larry Carlton and Deron Johnson.
How about a reunion, this would give Return to Forever a run for their money!Stanley Clarke and Friends 1994 Stanle10

I got this recording for Christmas when I was about 12 years old...it's one of my dear recordings which I have listened to hundred of times. Great record in my book and close to my heart!
Would be great to see this or a similar line up again!!

Billy went all out on this tour, he was still using Mapex at the time and put together his 3 bass drum/3 snare
kit for this tour. It sounded great on the CD, he also had a KAT Drumkat on his left that he used with a Roland
drum machine for sounds. You can hear his creative use of it through out the CD.

I have this CD also and was very fortunate to see this group perform
At the beautiful outdoor Concord Pavillian facility. It wasn't what I'd
call a "burning" show. But the repitoire and arrangements were very
enjoyable to listen to. It was a wonderful day and atmosphere to sit
on the grass in the ampitheater and just kick it with your lady while
enjoying some great live music.

Saw this band twice ! I loved them ! LIke Don intimated, the sound had a more polished, studio sound to the band even though it was live. No doubt this was due to the influence of Larry Carlton and Najee . And of course Boomer and Stanley canadapt their sound to any musical style you wish !

And I think the snare drum on the right side is the one I bought from Boomer a number of years ago ! It kicks 14 X 10.

That's a kickin snare, Ted! I think its the same one that's
in his instructional video "Drums by design" if I'm not mistaken.

Well, Don, just check out the cover for the name of the keyboard player! Laughing

There's that amazing drum fill with Roland drum machine sounds...its on "Buenos Aires"
Check it out starting 1:48 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qunm4caymLk

The intro of School Days features such musical drumming it's amazing. And the keyboard solo and interplay between Billy and Stanley Clarke is just a powerhouse groove fest! Stratus drum intro is also amazing and Carlton's Solo is powerful, great lines...And the audience is giving a lot of power too! I love that recording..!! cheers
Would love to see a video!
