Now why would I want to browse pictures of women on some "singles" site?

What about that next Nexus S 4G device for free?

Do these folks actually think I'm so hard up as to think by looking at an ad I'm taken in with their sales pitches and graphics?

Ahem, think again.

Yeah. I'm going right out and buy some Special K for breakfast tomorrow.

Helps pay Pete's bill for the forum, I guess.

LOL! This forum is for free... so the provider needs sponsors!

My cereal of choice is banana-nut-raisin oatmeal. But to each his own.

Thanks for commenting.

If Pete doesn't have to pay for the site, I wonder why the ad banners are there? I know others who use them and they get a penny or something for every click on them from their sites. Or the various companies, like Kelloggs, pay a little for the ad space. Right now I'm looking at an eFax banner. Must be a company that accepts other company ads for a list and then rotates them.

This service is what's known in the IT industry as a "content provider." It gets its revenue by sponsors who pay for advertising their products. Of course, such payment is contingent upon how many visit the site, as well as those who use it for their own forums, etc.
