Hello Cobham fans and followers !

I'm presenting here my actual project with a pianist, we've recorded that one month ago and just putted it on soundcloud for all to enjoy it !

Here it is :

https://soundcloud.com/lemmings-suicide-myth

It's progressive, with Benjamin on piano (and writing the tunes), & me on drums and glockenspiel.

Here is the drumset I've used :

Very nicely done, ptit-philou.  Really nice playing from the both of you.

The drums sound wonderful, Too!

Sounds great. I've been recording a duo format for the last few years and I have come to love it. I love the space it creates for the listener. Just rhythm and melody instruments. Uncluttered, if you will, no matter how complex the duo gets.

I notice the Sleishman dble pedal? I haven't come upon any users of it besides Will Calhoun, when he used one.

I haven't heard prog like this for a long time. Well done.

Yes, it's a Sleishman double pedal. I was interested by the concept to have the bass drum in "center" position, and I enjoy this pedal (but I'm not using the "double" too much having not enough time to practice it correctly ...)

Hello all,

Always with the same project, we've recorded this year another "album" called "Don't Try" that have also voice added (poems by Charles Bukowski with original music arranged for it).

Check it out there :

Next step for my band (always a piano/drums duo), a new album, recorded this time on an acoustic grand piano, with a lot of work done to improve what we were doing.

Phil,

Excellent collaboration.

Is Phil Collins an influence? I love the
delicate touch and sensitivity.

Well done.

Regards,

Hello Pete,

Thanks for the kind words and comments.

Phil Collins is not an influence, in the sense I didn't listen really to him (I discovered/listened to Brand X only 3/4 years ago, and was also not much into "prog-rock"), it's more the influences of all the great music from the '70s jazz-rock period (of course, not the same, but somewhere in my head).

Phil,

I was just wondering about that.
The dynamic touch is evident and
I just put the two together.

I did like Phil with Brand X and
think it some of his best work.

You did a great job.

Regards,
