Drinking Bottled Water at the gig still ?

Just received this vital information on why the bottle water trend is hazardous to your health, and near death threatening. It's seems to be just another, though likely, truth on typical American industry, capitalizing on human insecurities on health.

I buy 5litres of Pure Water
from my AsdaWalmart in the UK.

I boil it for Tea


No health problems.


The water on my area has chalk in it at times
and will block the kettle up.

Since using bottled water
which is from UK Eden Hills
my kettle is clean inside.
And the Tea from Kenya tastes better


At a Gig so long as your water in not old
it will be better than from a tap.

Hi Colin,

Can you elaborate somewhat on why would dated bottled water be bad. Just curious. I had this impression as long as it's the bottle under cool room temperature it would hold up. Not that I drink dated bottle water but know of some who store this stuff for months later.

This is a very interesting topic as well as a vast one. Potable pure drinking water these days is just about impossible to find anywhere.
Most people think that there is an endless supply but they couldn't be more wrong. Just turn the handle on your faucet and you've got clean water right?...Not really.

In my spare time when I'm not drumming, I am a survivalist. No I'm not a lunatic crazy person, but someone that doesn't take things for granted. Like water.. There are literally millions that die every year on this planet from simply not having any. And even more that die from drinking water riddled with contaminants. Granted these are people living in countries that are not as developed as ours, but none the less-they don't have clean water.

If you really want 99.9999% absolutely clean drinking water, I would suggest getting water out of your faucet, (because it's the same water they use in the plastic bottles you buy, minus the chemicals from the plastic). Boiling it first- then running it through a filtration system (see link) http://www.katadyn.com/usen/

These Katadyn filtration systems are some of the best made that I've discovered in my research- if not the finest.
once you boil your water, let it cool, then run it through the Katadyn, put it in a thick glass container. You won't get the chemical run off from the plastic, or the chlorine and flouride treatments to the water that you get coming out of your faucet.

I could go on about water because it is such a vital part of our lives, and without it- we die. I believe one day water will be more valuable than gold and silver. Oh and please don't make the mistake of thinking if you find a clear spring or stream that the water is good to drink.
Definitely not the case. Hope this helps in some way. You wouldn't believe what's in our water..it's scary.

over here
as after that the water and/or plastic bottle
can go off.

They test it.

Thanks Dave for that information. I did go to that website and found the filtering system something worth further checking into. I was just wondering if they have that same device to go on a standard faucet. I'll check further. Thanks

Yea, Colin that seems pretty strange finding horse hoofs in beef. Just last month I was on a camping trip with some friends and we had corn beef and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Prior to even taken a bite, I discovered an inch strand of what seemed like hardened hair, possibly rodent in nature, not sure. Or it could have been simply from burning the beef during cooking over the fire which gave it that impression. But I've not eaten corn beef for some time now and probably not, if ever, for a while.

Great subject. Dave, that's impressive stuff. I used to use one of those filters for backpacking trips and it was excellent. Seems like it's similar to reverse osmosis systems with the ceramic membrane, but I'm not sure. Do you know if it removes chlorine? I think you may need a carbon filter for that, but the Katadyn probably does an excellent job removing microorganisms where city water fails. I agree with everything you've said about water . . .

Yes the Katadyne filters will remove chlorine from the water source. But to be absolutely certain, I would do the two step, Boil-then filter your water-

Yes Woofus, I could use a good system to clear the high chlorine content that's in my shower water at my Henderson home in Vegas. Every time I visit there and take a shower, my skin starts to rash for a couple days. The property management told me I need to install some kind of filtering to rid it. Not sure how much that will cost. Probably would have to think of it in terms of another investment increasing the value of the home.
