At the NAMM show
he made a Double
and says he may go into production.

It sure would make a change.

I think it could do well.

It depends on price, Woody.

If you are spending near $150,
it has to be the Pearl Eliminator.
The most versatile pedal, in this
class, without question. The int-
erchangeable cams are a wonder
for drummers, allowing them to
really isolate what THEY prefer
and giving them an idea of what
has to happen, in order for them
to get the action THEY need.

A step below here and just under
$100, try the Gibraltor Intruder. I
have heard good reports about
this pedal - that in its virgin state,
allows for a fine response/attack:

At just over $200, when the fix is
done, the Boa-Pedal will be the
most radically adjustable pedal
on the market. I know that I
have bitched about the board
and that IS an issue but they
are working on it, even now
and I believe they are very
close to a fix. There are almost
too many features on it but I
have investigated it, all and can
help you understand it and what
it can do for you:

If you have the money and re-
ember to tighten your cam and
real, real tight, the Trick Pedal
is the most solid of the radically
adjustable pedals. It has almost
everything you could want but
you will pay for it and big-time:

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal - Page 2 41ZQCW7A92L._SL500_AA280_

Trick is coming out with a lower-
level pedal but I would not go
for it, as it does not have the
variable hoop-distancing, which
I feel is essential, today. The
Trick and Boa-Pedals have it.

If you do go for the Trick Pedal,
Woody, see if they will throw in
both the Longboard (Bigfoot)
and short-boards, for you, in a
special order, so you can try
them them both.

There's also the used-market
to consider. There might be
some bargains out there. If
you tell me what you have in
mind, I might be able to help
you more, with it.

I didn't mention the Axis. The
VDL is my favorite Universal
Cam System:

There's always the chance
that Mike (Drumnetics) will
alter his pedal in the near-
future, too.

Wait, Woody. Let me see if
Rich has done it, at Boa and
I would not mind trying out
this Taye pedal, too.

Thanks, Colin, for the
YouTube video link. The
pedal does have promise.

Again, the direct-drive and
link-receiver adjustment are
strong features, along with
the magnetized-cushion and
independent beater-angle
adjustment, which I also
believe are essential.

Now, one other thing I
wish this pedal had was
an ability to be split or
paired (twinned). You
have to buy a whole new
pedal system to do that.
It is true of the Eliminator,
too. I do not like that.

With the Trick and Axis,
you can buy have two
separate pedals and get
a mechanism to connect
them. THAT is cool.

The Taye is also convert-
ible, like the Trick and Axis.

Hi Pete,

I recently tried a Pearl Eliminator, and i loved it! I don't remember what cam it had, but it sure did feel nice and comfortable to play.
I'm definitely considering getting one just to try out the different cams and see for myself just how much difference it makes.

You got me interested in pedals through all of your investigations ,and i thank you for that.
I never really examined them all too much, and i will neglect this area no more--

Thanks Pete for posting all your findings , it's very informative and interesting.

Welcome, MagnetsRule!

I'll see if I can come up
with some for you.

First, am I right about
the link to the pedal
board? Is that distance
adjustable?

Also, can the hoop-clamp
be adjust for distancing
from it and the kick? That
is a very necessary feature
for me.

Thanks.

Welcome to the community MagnetsRule! I believe you'll find that our "village" is quite vibrant among the core of folks who Know each other beyond simply posting a comment.

Hey Pete & Dave... I wish I had my Pearl Eliminators today. Had them, but sold them back in 2006. My bad. I'm not a "rock" player per se, but realize that having a slave pedal only adds another color to the spectrum of what I was doing technique wise back in the 70s.

I wish I had the attitude then (and knowledge) that I have now. Go figure. Perhaps some among our younger drummers just coming up (and out) will hold onto what they've got, instead of hoping for something better. Word!

Yes, the linkage is adjustable so you can change the pedal board height.

No, the hoop-clamp can not be adjusted for distance.

No, the pedal is made in the USA in good old NC.

We are selling direct so we can offer it at a reasonable price.

We also know it's hard to purchase a pedal having not played it before, so this is why we offer the 15 day guarantee. Try it out, and if it's not right for you, just send it back for a full refund.

MagentsRule,

lol!

Cool tally!

Thanks, hombre!

On the hoop-distancing option,
I really think you should think
about that feature. Not only
is it something that helps us
with the variable hoop sizes,
the action REALLY changes,
with just slight varying.

The option kills two birds.

Just a suggestion.

The pedal looks really nice.
I would love to test one.

Maybe Magnetrules would be kind enough to send Pete a pedal to try and give his unbiased opinion of.
I'm sure that Pete would send it back, when done testing, and that would be good Public relations on the part of the manufactuer.
I, for one, would like to hear his take on this pedal.

Absolutely!

Magnetrule,

When it comes to kick pedals, Pete is the beta king! He has been extensively and exhaustively researching bass drum pedals for a number of years now and he has been posting priceless information on his findings througout different sites on the internet.

In my opinion it would only beneft you to send Pete a pedal and allow him to test it. I know Pete and he is very good at what he does. In all likelyhood, he will find something key and provide a perspective that the designers/manufacfures may have overlooked. We can start with the hoop clamp... Pete's suggestion there makes total sense.

Check him out.

Don.

We will be at the Drum Road Trip the weekend of June 28th up in Rochester NY. If anyone is in the area stop by and check us out.

I hate vacations like that. The kind where you return home more exhausted than when you left.

Audrey and I are going on a cruise next year. My plans are to eat, sleep and go to the restroom.

I'm talkin some serious R&R! Sleep

Hang in there guys. It's not that we don't want your opinion, or that we are scared of what you might have to say. We are just a small company that can't send out a pedal to everyone that asks for one.

We are busy filling orders and have a lot of background work going on right now, so these things just have to wait. Sad

Like I said before, I'll be glad to answer any questions and take any comments you may have for us. When we have the resources and start sending out pedals for eval again, you'll be on our list.
