Absolutely!

Magnetrule,

When it comes to kick pedals, Pete is the beta king! He has been extensively and exhaustively researching bass drum pedals for a number of years now and he has been posting priceless information on his findings througout different sites on the internet.

In my opinion it would only beneft you to send Pete a pedal and allow him to test it. I know Pete and he is very good at what he does. In all likelyhood, he will find something key and provide a perspective that the designers/manufacfures may have overlooked. We can start with the hoop clamp... Pete's suggestion there makes total sense.

Check him out.

Don.

I'll talk with Mike and see what we can do. I'm not sure who has our loaner pedals right now.

We will be at the Drum Road Trip the weekend of June 28th up in Rochester NY. If anyone is in the area stop by and check us out.

MagnetsRule,

I am serious about this.

You should see if there
is a YouTube link to that
debunking of the credit
card - magnet scenario
and hotlink to it, from
your site.

And on the review pos-
sibility, I would be glad
try it out and review it,
without bias, here and
elsewhere.

Have you heard anything from Magnetsrule, Pete???

Seems they wouldn't want to miss the opportunity for you to give them feedback about their product.

I hate vacations like that. The kind where you return home more exhausted than when you left.

Audrey and I are going on a cruise next year. My plans are to eat, sleep and go to the restroom.

I'm talkin some serious R&R! Sleep

Hang in there guys. It's not that we don't want your opinion, or that we are scared of what you might have to say. We are just a small company that can't send out a pedal to everyone that asks for one.

We are busy filling orders and have a lot of background work going on right now, so these things just have to wait. Sad

Like I said before, I'll be glad to answer any questions and take any comments you may have for us. When we have the resources and start sending out pedals for eval again, you'll be on our list.

Again, a cool design. Looks

Good luck with it.

Hi Magnetsrule,

I am glad to hear you're busy filling orders because that means drummers are buying your pedal. You would get even more drummers to buy it if you get a positive review from Pete.

He is a member of a number of drum sites and is respected by the drum community for his playing , and for his zealous analysis of all drum pedals on the market.

You would get an honest evaluation from a skilled drummer with any constructive criticism if warranted. And solutions to any problems found.

And most of all, you would get your pedal returned. Now while his name wouldn't be as famous an endorsement as from some big-name drummer, I tend to think that if you send a product to a big name to try out, then they think it's okay to add it to their collection, whether they use it or not. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but you would know better than me.

Hope you decide in favor of Pete when one becomes available. Peace, TED

I absolutely second that! His praise and/or critique will be based from an objective and honest user's point of view. And I personally believe that your product will be the better for it. If there's something to be found, good or not so good, you can bet your last money, honey that Pete will find it.

He already has PDC scratching their heads on the Boa!

Pete, I just called a pro drum shop here in town. It is the same shop where I learned about the Trick Pedal... They HAD a Demon pedal there but it's gone now. They will be getting some more in shortly and as soon as they do, Paul will give me a call and I will go and check it out...

If I should get to it before you do, what features would you like me to focus on? I will also try to take pictures while I'm there.

They didn't know about the Drumnetcis Pedal... I gave him the website and he's looking into it.

I think that what you should look
at, closely, are these features:

1. Direct Link Adjustment

There are eight positions (4 for
each board). To me, it sounds
limiting but I need you to see
if you get a good range of act-
ion. Note the beater pullback.

2. Z-Link Drive Shaft

The claim is that both pedals are
exactly the same. Tall statement.
Let's see if that is true.

Thanks.

One more thing:

Make sure to get a shot of each
of the positions, beater extended
to the head so we can see the
angle of pull-down. This would be
a shot from the side, while the
board was fully depressed, with
the beater against the head.

Thanks, again, Don!!

Pretty clean and solid looking pedal.

Personally my consern, besides hoop compatibility is the aggressiveness to that 'magnetic pull'. I would think that would be beyond just the physicalness of the pedal and more of the science of magnetism. Unless that (magnetism) can be controlled in smooth transitional-increments it may present problems in one's personal feel in playing the pedal. In this case, the pedal may out-play the player which can be uneasy and conflict with one's performance. Would you think? I don't know. Sure like to try one though.

For whatever is worth...just my 1/2 and 2/3rds input? ... Wink

I am talking to Mike at Drumnetics and

chance to use/test this pedal for you.

I was intrigued right from the start. Now,
I will be able to prove to myself the real
value in this unique design.

I will be posting in the near future.

I originally found this forum by looking at hits for a Drumnetics search. I am deciding between the Trick and the Drumnetics. I hope to try out a Trick while on the road, either at a Guitar Center or Memphis Drum Shop. I really appreciate Mike's willingness to do the trial offer on his pedal. He doesn't live that far from me. A few hours, maybe. I'd love to go to his set up in NC and check one out when I get home.

I just wrote an article for my web site on pedals. So much is stated by manufacturers, but at the same time, so little. Writing the article helped me get a grip on not only using words to describe pedal mechanics in some kind of, hopefully, practical way, but also formulating what I really am looking for in a pedal, myself. At this point there isn't a bad pedal out there, really. Not even inexpensive ones. But finding something you can become one with, that is the thing. Compression or expansion. I am going back to compression (Speed King growing up). Having used a bunch of pedals now and feeling like I have wrestled with most of them the last 20 years, I am figuring it is simply muscle memory and growing up with the SK. Of course, now I wonder what it will be like to leave expansion springs after 20 years. I may enter a kick pedal Twilight Zone. Na-na, na na - na na, na na - na na, na na.

Wrote to Mike. No reply, yet. Holidays. I'm sure he's busy.

I also appreciated the thread here on the Trick Pro 1V. Very helpful.

Has anyone here gotten the Drumnetics? Was wondering especially about the shape of the cam, the pear shape, and its proximity to a bass drum head if the drum is tilted up some. Would the end of the cam rub on a head? In all the vids I have seen, Mike plays it with his bass drum flat, and the beater going past 90 degrees. It looks like a close call for the cam rubbing against the head if you tilt your bass.
