Check this out:

Some very nice ideas. I will talk more
about this design, later:

Some info at the main site:

http://www.drumnetics.com/pedal.php

Good info, there.

Right off, the hoop-clamp reminds me
of the Axis, which I am not fond of but
everything else is to my liking but do
not drop your wallet near it.

lol!

I wrote them and asked for a price.

Regards,

Well, Now I've seen it all! -

That's pretty amazing. affraid It seems to me, that of all the hardware for drums, the pedal has had the most innovations. I would like to try that one. I would like to see how the linkage holds up after some wear and tear, and I wonder if the magnets help with arthritis? (hahaha Just Kidding).

Hey, you never know about magnets
and arthritis. I know some people that
swear by magnetic bracelets, pillows
and mattresses.

My anxiety comes, with my wallet,
media and that hoop-clamp and let
me tell you - all you need is once, on
the loss of your credit cards and you
will be cursing that thing.

Hahaha--Exactly. I wonder how much they cost? and how much difference is there actually in feel? It seems to me that all these pedals are doing the same function. I would imagine it's a very quiet pedal as far as noisy operation.

I guess with that amount of Metal
it is made in China.

Even Sonor Germany
now have to get it all made in China
all to do with costings.

I can recall British Steel
German Steel & even American Steel.

Are you going to buy one, Pete, and give us an unbiased review???

The companys should provide Pete with the pedals, free of charge, to let him write an official review for the drumming community. Cool

That's pretty competitively priced given it's so radically different- at least for the single pedal.

I think so, also, Dave.

I wrote him, back, ment-
ioning the hoop-clamp,
which I think is an issue.

Notice that it cannot be
altered for varying hoop
sizes. These days, designs,
in my opinion, have to ad-
dress this and especially in
the case of those whose
foot-boards cannot be
shifted forward or back.

With the latter, the hoop-
distancing is touched upon,
at least. An example is the
Pearl Eliminator design,
with its 'Power-Shifter'.

The Boa-Pedal has, not
only a variable hoop-clamp;
it also has a variable Link-
Receiver Pulldown, which
shifts that angle, changing
the feel significantly.

Incidentally, I am confident
that Bob Gatzen, Rich Sikra
and DW are going to remedy
that situation, concerning
the cracking footboards and
relatively, soon.

Very interesting unit... Got me curious! I like the idea of the rubber beater.

The direct-drive and optional
positioning for the link are
real good features.

If it had variable hoop-clamp,
I would try, right-away.

Woody,

The thing that keeps me
from buying it is the lack
of a variable hoop distance-
adjustment. It's not just the
variable hoop sizes but the
action you can obtain with
a forward (not vertical, or
backward) beater.

And there is no shifter.

Well, I don't blame you, Pete.
$270.00 is alot of money to dish out for something you may not be satisfied with.

Now which bass drum pedal on the market is the best one in your humble opinion?

It sure would make a change.

I think it could do well.

It depends on price, Woody.

If you are spending near $150,
it has to be the Pearl Eliminator.
The most versatile pedal, in this
class, without question. The int-
erchangeable cams are a wonder
for drummers, allowing them to
really isolate what THEY prefer
and giving them an idea of what
has to happen, in order for them
to get the action THEY need.

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 31QKS7HG3NL._SL500_AA250_

A step below here and just under
$100, try the Gibraltor Intruder. I
have heard good reports about
this pedal - that in its virgin state,
allows for a fine response/attack:

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 2e0c_1

At just over $200, when the fix is
done, the Boa-Pedal will be the
most radically adjustable pedal
on the market. I know that I
have bitched about the board
and that IS an issue but they
are working on it, even now
and I believe they are very
close to a fix. There are almost
too many features on it but I
have investigated it, all and can
help you understand it and what
it can do for you:

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 41KGCQ9BTML._SL500_AA280_

If you have the money and re-
ember to tighten your cam and
real, real tight, the Trick Pedal
is the most solid of the radically
adjustable pedals. It has almost
everything you could want but
you will pay for it and big-time:

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 3194QHJN2AL._SL500_AA280_

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 41ZQCW7A92L._SL500_AA280_

Trick is coming out with a lower-
level pedal but I would not go
for it, as it does not have the
variable hoop-distancing, which
I feel is essential, today. The
Trick and Boa-Pedals have it.

If you do go for the Trick Pedal,
Woody, see if they will throw in
both the Longboard (Bigfoot)
and short-boards, for you, in a
special order, so you can try
them them both.

There's also the used-market
to consider. There might be
some bargains out there. If
you tell me what you have in
mind, I might be able to help
you more, with it.

I didn't mention the Axis. The
VDL is my favorite Universal
Cam System:

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 21V0FK5TFAL._SL500_AA250_

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal 31B7590BK1L._SL500_AA280_

There's always the chance
that Mike (Drumnetics) will
alter his pedal in the near-
future, too.

Drumnetics Magnetic Pedal PedalLarge

Wait, Woody. Let me see if
Rich has done it, at Boa and
I would not mind trying out
this Taye pedal, too.

Thanks, Colin, for the
YouTube video link. The
pedal does have promise.

Again, the direct-drive and
link-receiver adjustment are
strong features, along with
the magnetized-cushion and
independent beater-angle
adjustment, which I also
believe are essential.

Now, one other thing I
wish this pedal had was
an ability to be split or
paired (twinned). You
have to buy a whole new
pedal system to do that.
It is true of the Eliminator,
too. I do not like that.

With the Trick and Axis,
you can buy have two
separate pedals and get
a mechanism to connect
them. THAT is cool.

The Taye is also convert-
ible, like the Trick and Axis.

Hi Pete,

I recently tried a Pearl Eliminator, and i loved it! I don't remember what cam it had, but it sure did feel nice and comfortable to play.
I'm definitely considering getting one just to try out the different cams and see for myself just how much difference it makes.

You got me interested in pedals through all of your investigations ,and i thank you for that.
I never really examined them all too much, and i will neglect this area no more--

Thanks Pete for posting all your findings , it's very informative and interesting.

Welcome, MagnetsRule!

I'll see if I can come up
with some for you.

First, am I right about
the link to the pedal
board? Is that distance
adjustable?

Also, can the hoop-clamp
be adjust for distancing
from it and the kick? That
is a very necessary feature
for me.

Thanks.

Welcome to the community MagnetsRule! I believe you'll find that our "village" is quite vibrant among the core of folks who Know each other beyond simply posting a comment.

Hey Pete & Dave... I wish I had my Pearl Eliminators today. Had them, but sold them back in 2006. My bad. I'm not a "rock" player per se, but realize that having a slave pedal only adds another color to the spectrum of what I was doing technique wise back in the 70s.

I wish I had the attitude then (and knowledge) that I have now. Go figure. Perhaps some among our younger drummers just coming up (and out) will hold onto what they've got, instead of hoping for something better. Word!
