A Jazz journal also sold in USA
has Stanley Clarke on page 10
but then a Photo in a London hotel of Stanley
is infact Lenny White


its like that best of Billy Cobham CD
with Lenny White

Can you be a little more clear in your description?
Are you saying that while Stanley is on the cover,
the article is actually on Lenny White?  I don't have
the magazine so it's hard to figure out what's wrong.

No its inside from page 10.

a B/W photo from a London Hotel its says Stanley Clarke 1976
but its Lenny White - not Stanley

Check the Mag out in stores

I did not buy the Magazine
I was just looking  and I was shocked
that a Jazz Journal
also used Young Staff   or old staff who can not be bothered to find a
correct photo of Stanley  in 1976
so used Lenny White.


Its a Striking Front Cover Photo
so I thought I would look in  the mag.
Not a Mag I buy for £4 or so.

at £4:25  infact
US $8:50.

its so wrong of the quality  mag to get Sloppy

thanks Colin, that's such an unbelievable mistake and unfortunately it just goes to show how little the real world knows about jazz artists and their music. And also what a poor proofreader that magazine has.....

This morning I phoned the Admin of the Mag
they are in Kent , England.


I said to a Lady
if you go to page 11
they have a photo of Stanley Clark in London 1976
but it is infact a Drummer Lenny White


She said thank you
and she will pass it onto the Editor.



I hope next month they says sorry.


It is a good mag
but 41 pages is not enough.
On page 39  a good 4 star review of
George Duke /Billy Cobham  Band Live CD  Warner 1976 re release.
and a good  talk with Stanley Clarke.
Its good they Export it USA.
I hope they carry on.

The Number  1 mag for Jazz in the UK is Jazzwise
who sometimes give  a free music CD with it.

Looks like Stanley to me!    

In reality, I can't tell how many times this has happened to me.
After a gig how the manager will walk up to me and try and hand
me the check when in fact the go to person whom he'd already
spoken to is the guitar player who also happens to be black.

When I correct them they apologize and I'll come back with:
"Don't worry about it, we all look alike anyway."

They feel very guilty and say "Oh, no you don't, my mistake."

This happens pretty regularly and it can be somewhat irritating.
