No Colin, I should have mine next week . It doesn't come out until 9/30. And the label is Klondike records, not Sony , so who knows how good the recording will be.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ted, I wanted to ask if you could please recommend 2 or 3 Mahavishnu concerts on concertvault.com.....Let me tell you what I already have and what I'm looking for.

What I already have:
Century Theatre, January 27, 1973
University of Wisconsin, March 20, 1973
Orpheum Theatre, March 11, 1973, Late Show

What I'm looking for:
Sound quality roughly as good as (or better than) the Orpheum Theatre show;
Different arrangements of and/or different improvisational stretches in their songs (example: every version of "The Dance of Maya" I have is very different).

Can you help me?

HI T ,
You know , I honestly can't...... I have about 25 of the concerts and while I've played them all, I haven't been paying attention to what show was where, or which one sounded best because each show is different- they may play the same songs but they usually never played them the same way twice , and the solos would be different.

I don't think you would go wrong picking just about anything. Sorry I could not be of more help ...

this "seems" new
on YouTube  from late 1973.

I pay the concertvault mothly fee   of 4 bucks or less
as they keep finding gems
like Return To Forever   July3 1974.   NYC  (Al on Guitar)  - that sounds great once transferred to 24bit CD (for private use)
and Stevie Wonder live in Detroit  1984
with Ricky Lawson on Drums.

got the CD yesterday and I must say I am disappointed. The sound quality is slightly above bootleg, but is distorted at times when the full band plays. There is also FM radio hiss. I would have thought the technology today could clean that up.

I cannot even rate the performance because I only listened to parts of two songs and I had to turn it off.
