Nite Sprite

Dave Weckl's band back in 1980.
I had no idea Steve Gadd influenced
him this much.

I always saw lots of Steve in him
and why not? I think we all were
knocked over by him.

I heard the SG influence as well, Pete. but I
first heard of Dave when he did the Bill Conners
album.  A trio featuring Tom Kennedy on bass
(Smokin record btw).  This was after Nite Sprite
and likely when DW began to develop his own
sound and he didn't sound nearly as much like
Steve as he does here.

Incidentally, I wasn't able to get on the site
all day yesterday.

Not sure what happened with the
site.  I think it might be the provider.

Steve influenced a generation of
players in my opinion.  There are few
drummers that have done this.
