Not sure of the story behind this photo, but it looks like Boomer using his 1987 Tama Artstar kit with custom hardware
that he used on his final GRP release "Picture This".

Tis is one of two drum sets that I have kept and play from time to time. With the right drum heads and tonal environment they can be spectacular. They are not Bubinga but they have character. Boomer

This picture was taken at a concert when Billy was actually endorsed by Yamaha.
Billy told me that he never actually had an iron clad endorsement deal with Yamaha
And this allowed him freedom to use other makes at times.

I don't believe he has the same freedom now that he's back with Tama.

Billy?

Yes Alex all of our Inspiration.

And Live Clinics  with Big Tama Kits

Even one recorded by BBC TV Music Team.
London Greenwood Theater
in May , 1981 (Billy with 2 young drummers)
It would be nice on a Worldwide Play DVD. (for better use in a Music Class)
Because the youngers need to see this.
