A  sad  day
Alphonse was working on a 11th House tour

He was working to the End
He Helped Niki
and Me.

And Niki helped Alphonse get the USA Blue Note  masters, he told me,
but in 2013  Japan Blue note released all Blue Note  Cat.,
in 24bit CD  Top Quality Upgrade
Even the Live Double LP   with loads of Blue Note Artists
And Alphonse Mouzon  Live with the Young Tim DeHuff on Guitar,
is on  Japan CD   its in 2 CD's separate   Vol1 and Vol2
Volume One starts with Alphonse  Mouzon Band Live   1- 3
then is a Great Live Band of Ronnie Laws    4-7
with  Bobby Lyle on electric Piano
then Donald Byrd Live    final 2 tracks  8-9.

Vol2 CD
is all the   other Artists
like John Lee and Gerry Brown
Earl Klugh etc.

Right after  that he was in Germany (Nov 1976)
recording his Long Drum Solo   (with Africa to jazz-rock and jazz)
both his   2 German CD's  were released in 24bit upgrades,

Starts with a Drum solo.

ALPHONSE MOUZON - Drums, Composer
GARY BARTZ - Soprano Saxaphone
STU GOLDBERG - Electric Piano, Moog Synthesizer
WELTON GITE - Electric Bass

A few years back from that
he was using the Fibes Double Bass Drum big kit
