I think Eric is an example
of one of this generation's
exciting developments. I
love his touch and reaching
out for his bandmates.

Love his touch.

Regards,

Yes Pete, for his generation one that plays with feel  and dynamics is a rare find.

An interview (Drumeo) with Gerry Brown on a question posed to him on hiphop drumming today; He thinks it's too complex, geared in speed and chop that the elements of dynamics, phrasing, etc. that makes for a good solo tends to disorient a thoughtful solo. Everything is thrown in from the start and causes limitation as to where to further take their solos. Being that everything was already stated from the get-go it leaves no room to to say anything different as the solo proceeds. He furthers the thought as in normal conversations in responding in terms of hearing and returning appropriate responses. Of course it was an analogy of speaking musically.

I paraphrased it yet I agree.

Beautiful presentation of words.
It could not have been expressed
in better terms. It really is a state-
ment about life and being, as well
as music.

Glad you posted that. You are a
special person, Rac.

Regards,
