Glad you enjoyed it Don ! There's a lot of Toots on youtube including him playing harp with a turkey baster ! I was fortunate to see him play with Jaco in the Word of Mouth band and was blown away. Any you're right on the money about him playing a chromatic harp, which is a lot more difficult to play, but has a lot more range too !
I've seen Magic Dick with the J.Geils band 8 times many years ago, and he is a monster player, trust me. In the blues vein, of course. Some of the other good players are the legendary Little Walter, James Cotton, Paul Butterfield, John Mayall, John Popper, Stevie Wonder and Jack Bruce. I had a very good harp player in my group the Allen Wrench band, named Carlos Colina who currently leads the Straight Up Blues Band. Some of you might have checked out the videos on my site. He has been learning chromatic over the years and would show me how difficult it is to play because of the tongue positioning involved.
But Buddy Greene sure can play, too. Thanks for turning me on to him !
