Hi, Guys,

Just experimenting with some of the NEW TOOLS of Internet, meaning, MySpace and YouTube.

For some time I wanted to add some stuff of me playing Brazilian Music, without recording new things.

You all know how it is, is so tiring to bring the set (to me at least, even if all my stuff is really small and light) to, on top, bring a camera, cables, etc...

That's one of the reasons I have not much stuff myself playing this kind of music (if you discount that every time you enjoyed what was happening the camera didn't work or something...!) Brazilian.

So, I decided, nevertheless, to post a few fragments of me playing, that are really dated and don't represent my playing today (but whatever...)., and see how I do...(might be lethal, haha).

The first video is about 7 years old, the second 20 y.o., and the third fragment (really funny I know, but didn't have any other video playing in that specific direction, LOUNGE) is 15 y.o.!

Here is in YOUTUBE:

YouTube - Alex Sanguinetti playing Brazilian Music in 3 Formats
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zBzMa541eA

I'm just experimenting, I might erase it all.

What do you think?

I also have a new MySpace page with other things in JAZZ and FUSION style, here:

Warmest regards!

Alex,

Coolness!!

They are short, except for the last
one, where I could tell it must have
been hard to keep eye-contact, with
the keyboard player!

lol!

My fave was the first. You are just
in total command.

You know you are it, for me, man!!

That's the sweet stuff Alex! I love the variety... especially ending up with the dancers while the music alone would have been enough.

Very nice as always...

Warm Regards.

Thanks Suss!

I know it's a bit silly, I would have like to have a fragment without the dancers but I didn't have any in that direction so it was a big question for me if I should include it or not.

You see, I was thinking that if a guy wants to hire me to to play in that style, traditional bossa-nova, he might not think I would be able seeing the first two fragments (brazilian-jazz / brazilian -fusion), so, I only included it because of that. I still a bit unconfortable about the whole thing.

Whatever...the clip is from a TV comedy I was doing in the 90's. I was then recording in TV every week for almost a year for it.

Regarding the Brazilian gigs, I'm doing them pretty often nowadays which is really nice.

This is the band I play the most:

Not silly at all Alex! In fact you touch on a chord that many don't have the courage to even speak about, let alone live with. I want to share my thoughts with you without "type casting" anyone. Maybe, that'll be a hint. Cool

Which is...(that "chord" you mentioned)?

I'm not sure if I understood your post.

Sorry Alex... I meant to speak figuratively.

You referenced how people tend to "type cast" others into whatever box they understand rather than embracing the total person into a project. In some respects, by doing that, musical "hand-cuffs" are often placed upon the very person who could do the job, as you do. Just because a person can run the peaks, doesn't mean that once back on the ground he has no footing in the valleys.

With you in mind,

I think you did the right thing by including this track among the first two... it demonstrated that you have a command of an idiom regardless of its' complexities. In other words, YOU ARE A PLAYER!, ... something hard for many today to appreciate given their tendency to want to hear only sound bites.

I hear it Alex, and still love the Soundscapes as well as the Sound Bites! Hope I'm clear this time. Very Happy
