Will it go round in circles? It sure will you BAD BOY!

The Joint Chiefs are OFF THE FREAKIN' HOOK in my book.

I'd be your roadie (and occassional sit-in drummer) if you guys would let me!

Masterful Neph! I love the snap of your snare drum and the funky interplay you Guys enjoy when listening to each other's Funk!

Billy Preston wished he were as animated as you guys cover this tune.

I am simply funkified this afternoon here in Atlanta., and on a long deserved weekend.

Thanks Don for getting me off to a GREAT START!

P.S. You and the Gents play man. Others need to listen more intently if they haven't. I love it.

Thanks, Uncle,

This band of fellas play well together. That in itself makes me sound good. I'm of the firm belief that if the band sounds good completely, then that's a feather in my cap. I try not to play in such a way that I "stand out". I feel that if I can somehow be a part of what makes everything right happen with the music, then I'm going to sound good, even if I'm not up to the technical level of everyone else. A perfect example of this is Rick Laird, the bass player for the Mahavishnu Orchestra. He's not what one might consider a "monster player", but everything he did was complimentary to the music he played and to the musicians he played with. That came back to him full circle by establishing him as a major player in the band, and the benefit of that was he sounded good along side everyone else.

I try to approach whatever music I play in this manner, as I know you do also.

Here's one from the recent Reno (Sparks) Nevada series.

Thanks again, Uncle.

Nephew.

Hi Neph!

... and May I see your face one day. We are knit together with threads that the world's greatest carpet could be weaved by. A new aspirant here is "Drum Student." I know this man: he towers over me at me being 6'1". Yet William Headen is a dear friend and student of mine. Welcome him, and let him know that we know each other. I've seen his face more than once - I just want to see yours. sunny I'm still a Student in the Process. You know this about me. My memories of yesterday are eclisped by what I experience TODAY. I am so thankful Don. From my heart it is SO NICE to converse with you by phone as we did just a few moments ago.

Music, and our ability to hear it, is a Gift from God to human kind. May we not take this, among many art forms, for granted. I write this knowing that there are many without this pleasure/release because of the circumstances they are facing and the inability to express what we know. Those that I speak of are in war zones - victims of those perpretating genocide and civil unrest.

I love you in the BEST way my Brother!
