Different from a traditional orchestra, the group usually doesn't use scores nor Itiberê the traditional baton - music parts written after the fact will serve as a record and the musicians play by heart.
During their three weekly rehearsals, Itiberê makes use of the method "Corpo Presente" (real time creation) to compose and arrange. Itiberê composes the songs and tailors his arrangements in such a way that the musicians can participate in his creative process while learning to hear and play in harmony with other instruments. Working with multiple music genres and no preconceptions, he includes in his work many musical tendencies, reflecting the Orquestra's universality as a whole. Breaking through the boundaries that separate popular and classical music, Itiberê Orquestra Família's music features universality, the greatest asset of "Escola Jabour", by Hermeto Pascoal.
