During the Nam era I was about graduating from high school and the draft was on and I think it should continue, in my opinion. There are kids these days more about living at home without having any purpose or direction. I have 3 brothers and one sister of which I'm the youngest of the litter. All three brothers went in to serve - two in the army and the other in the air force. All served well except me being excempt due to being the only male left with a mother of no husband. The military thought it, at the time, of having one male left back in terms of possibly meeting the needs on the home front.
But I can assure you people, I was somewhat scared but I would have gone in if it was in my power to doing so...really.
Again, I commemorate all of you who have sacrificed your comforts and personal desires for the sake of country and world freedom. And that's why I can do today what I love doing because of you and your obedience to God and our country. And I would think those who think other, may want to reconsider reasons why you have this freedom even to voice opinions that are contrary.
Yes my fellow country men (I can hear the music now), it was sacrifice indeed amidst harms way.
God I love this country!!

p.s. Believe or not, there are people that don't realize that Hawaii is a state of the American union.
