Buddy Rich On Why He Doesn't Use Match Grip

But yet I have seen Buddy use the match grip, and then I heard a interview, where he was asked about it, and he said he uses it sometimes, he said it's something that I just do sometimes. Now when he was on the Muppets show he used it, and I have seen him use it in other videos, but I did notice that he would not stay with it, he would go back to match before the solo was over.

Buddy's explanation here is a bit dumb. Obviously if your snare drum is setup in a position that mainly or exclusively benefits a traditional grip, then of course it's going to be that much more difficult to perform from a matched grip platform....
