A wonderful companion and friend for nearly 15 years. Gentle as a lamb and as loyal as a Roman centurion. My girl, Koki. I had to have her put down this morning just two days after Christmas. My heart is broken and the tears are still flowing. This was among the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. My little girl is gone.

But I simply was not going to allow her to suffer and deep down I know that this was the best thing for HER!

If you ever want to learn about unwavering unconditional love, just look to your pet. It matters not what you look like to them or what your financial status may be. They don't care what you put on in the morning or even if you put anything on at all. You can be angry at them, yell at them and 10 seconds later they're wagging their tails and looking at you wide-eyed for love and approval of their actions. In their eyes their whole world is you.

This was my wonderful dog and steadfast friend, "Koki girl"... I love you sweetie and I will miss you forever more. Sad

The pictures below were taken just two days ago, Christmas morning.

I'm sorry for your loss Don,

Losing a beloved pet hurts even more than a human family member sometimes...
At least you know you gave her a wonderful life, filled with love, and you'll always have her in your heart.

Again, my condolances.

D.L.

Sorry about that Don, I know what it is like to lose pet dogs with something that is beyond your control.

It's strange the relationship between people and pets: the rapport seems to reflect the personalities of both parties so well that in the pet you see the person and in the person you see the pet. Fascinating........
In life there is always another lesson to learn through observance.
When you lose a friend the relationship is irreplaceable.

Thank you, Billy. I'm having a bit of a hard time dealing with this today.
More so than Yesterday when she was put down. I feel a little guilty
in having this done, though the doctor assured me that it was the proper
and humane thing to do.

Still, taking my friend and having her killed is not that easy for me to deal
with. I had to leave the house today as it was really beginning to get to
me. It's a tough deal right now and my heart aches.

I know and understand that the initial surface hurt will pass, but that deep missing
hurt that will surface from time to time here after never will.... I also understand that
where love is involved, that's the way it should be.

Thank you, again, B..... All of you. sunny

My condolences on the loss of your friend. It sounds like you did the right thing for her, though it was very hard to do.

Perhaps you should consider getting another dog that you could love in the same way ?

Peace, TED

Thank you, brother Ted...

Koki was a one of a kind. Just like every other pet. She was unique
and that makes her irreplaceable! So to get another pet for the sake
of filling the void left behind by her would never work.

Now, the flip side to that coin is we still have a Chihuahua, Niki and
a pit bull, Champ in our Family. Not to mention two cats, Newman
and K.C. (Kitty Cat). Oh, did I mention by the way that we are avid
animal lovers?! Very Happy

We will continue focus our love on them as well. But them being here
or not, Koki can not and will not ever be "replaced'. And that goes for
all of the family pets. I love you

Did not know you had other pets brother Don, otherwise I would not have made the suggestion.

It just means that you will now have more time to love the others in the same way and that's a good thing.

Soldier on !

Prayer into the Universe for Koki, who had long life filled with love. You should be very proud of the love you fostered with her, Don.

I'm grateful, Woof.... Yet how ironic that the fostered love we shared is the very cause of this pain.

Thanks, bro. Smile
