Our member Walter Kolosky has just written an excellent article commemorating the 40th anniversary of the legendary Mahavishnu Orchestra .

As usual, he did a superb job taking us from past to present and interviewed all the members on their thoughts about this occasion nowadays. I thought Boomer's recollection on how he looks back on the band was very well put .

To read that and the whole article please go here: http://www.guitar-channel.com/rich_murray/2011/11/exclusive-after-40-years-the-mahavishnu-orchestra-looks-back-by-walter-kolosky.html

Having just spent part of Saturday with John McLaughlin and most of the weekend with Walter makes this article have that much more meaning for me !

I hope you will visit the link , and pass it on to your friends !

Forty years. Where did they go?

Reunion! Reunion!

I read BC stating somewhere that everybody but Hammer would be open to a reunion. He didn't name Hammer. He just stated he knows John is open. Rick is open. Jerry is open. But not everybody is.

In the end that kind of energy and intensity would be very difficult for guys in their age bracket to pull off night after night, especially Billy. As I recall, in the same article BC mentioned how he was telling McGlaughlin back then he felt there was no way he could keep that energy and intensity up night after night.

I still remember In Concert on ABC that Friday night. The height of musical inspiration for me. And the faces of the audience. Unbelief. Shock. Joy. Intense concentration. Quite the thing for a teenager to key in on.
