A new Mahavishnu Orchestra show has surfaced on Wolfgang's Vault this week,
December 2, 1973 Washington D.C., Constitution Hall.
It is listed as one of the band's last live performances, It also conveys a seething intensity,
no doubt fueled in part by the increasing competition and anger brewing within the band.

Might be worth checking out, even though I am not sure if they have the legal rights to post these shows.
They must be getting them from a reliable source, but not caring too much about payment to the band.
It is up to you if you want to use their web site, despite the contradictions.

Oh, man, I didn't know such a site existed. Cool.

Amazing. In listening to the Woolsey Hall, New haven, CT concert it sounds as though the guy who recorded it was sitting next to me in the balcony. The concert was so muddy it was quite disappointing. I remember Cobham just walking off the stage when it ended. It just seemed like he was totally disgusted. It was so loud for that poor hall it was deafening. Inaudible. The recording sounds a lot better than my ears heard it that night.

When I left the hall McGlaughlin and another person were walking behind me on the sidewalk. I turned and said, "Great concert, Mr. McGlaughlin." He replied, in his sheepish voice, "Thank you. Thank you."

I thought to myself, Whatdidyasaythat for? It was terrible. I should have asked why on earth he played so loud and drowned everybody else out.

Cobham was his usual cobra, ferocious, funky self though. Always a pleasure watching his energy and intensity.

The Wolfgang Vault recordings are board recordings done by the soundman at the time, Dinky Dawson.

And yes, they were a loud band. LOL

Peace, TED
