All these "tricks" are fun to watch maybe once!
I know!!! We need to put together an entire
band of these exhibitionists. Maybe we can find
a keyboard player who can twirl his keyboard on
his nose while doing a solo. Or a guitar player
shredding after setting himself on fire.

I know, how bout a trumpet player that can do a solo
consisting of 16th notes while spinning the trumpet on
his finger, and a bass player funkin it up while standing
on his head and playing with his toes. Now THAT would
be a band!!!

Cmon, guys lets get back to the purpose behind
these instruments being made... CREATING MUSIC!

The exhibitions are fun sometimes..... But really!
Are you cats so bored with your own playing that
THIS is what does it for you?! Seems like drummers
are the only players you find these days turning their
instruments into some kind of side show piece.

I'd be more interested in seeing and hearing what
YOU guys are doing with your craft. That would be
a heck of a lot more interesting than this youtube
drum carnival crap!

How many of you guys have signed up for the new Billy
Cobham drum school?! If you were as serious about
your own skills as you are about digging up and watching
these tricksters on youtube, I bet you'd be monsters by now.

GO PRACTICE!!!

That's the same guy? I saw both those vids a long time ago. I didn't think it was the same player.

I agree with D. I just read somewhere about a famous drummer with his drum set on a mini roller coaster on stage. I think it was the Motley Crew guy. What next? Flying drum sets.

Someday there will be a totally robotic music group. They'll replace humans.

I'm glad I saw and heard the 60s and 70s up close and personal. Everything seems to be getting more sterile and mechanic since then.
