Saw him with Kenny Garrett in Paris (end of the 90's i think),he is a great drummer,using a lot of ghost notes within the groove.Peace,Stef.

yeah i was inspired to see his work with foley etc...
It gives me faith in the new generation of players.
I sometimes get frustrated when with the downtown bars all about
canned dj techno trash then i see real players are out there
i guess life really is a duality gotta take the bad with the good
now that guy is just plain good. i don't know about all his hip hop
covers like that is so important? wow john coltrane covers neil sedaka
whatevs

the thing i notice most is rhythmically where drummers come from. this cat has a jazz and hip hop take. i can see that plainly. Like a very sophisticated and strong jazz player who happened to grow up with hip hop dominating the musical landscape. i can see it a mile away. to emulate free jazz and at the same time break beats and lady gaga. it's what makes life interesting.
