I don't mean to pry, but from what I can glean from this forum so far it appears it was started because BC's web site was hacked and everything lost?

Why would anyone want to hack Billy Cobham's web site? Is this a fairly common occurrence for professionally well-known musicians?

A couple of Boomer's earlier sites were hacked and had to be shut down. It was vicious, and we don't know the reason it was done.

When you set up a forum it's pretty easy for those who are knowledgable enough to mess with it if they want to. So Billy decided to remove the forum option from his site which ensures that the rest of it stays up and functions with security.

I can't answer you as to whether or not this happens to other musicians. But how many other sites exist where you can actually interact with the musician the site belongs to ? Some yes, but not a lot from what I have seen.

Pete C. has kindly put up and pays for this site out of his own pocket so that the rest of us can continue to stay in touch with each other and with Boomer. We have been doing this fro at least 15 years or so with folks coming and going. though you're a little late to the party, we welcome your input .

Many of us have been here awhile. I've even had the priviledge
of meeting three people here face to face: The man himself, Pete,
Dave Latimer (daveonskins) and Spanky. Like a rollercoaster, the
