The Anthology (2cd) by Return To Forever

Hi,

The Anthology by Return To Forever is more than a compilation release (on 2cd’s) since it contains every track from “The Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy” and also the whole “Romantic Warrior” album. In addition there are four tracks from Where Have I Known You Before and four tracks from No Mystery. These titles were hand-picked by Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke. The sound is excellent on this remastered release and it seems like the drums are more upfront, which is nice. I hadn’t heard The Hymn... before and it exceeded my expectations by far. Lenny White is driving that band with such power and precision. I think that Colin mentioned this release some time ago, but I thought it’s worthwhile to bring up again. Highly recommended!

I also bought the remastered version of Where Have I Known You Before and No Mystery to get the missing pieces from the Anthology. On this 2cd the tracks also sound far better than on the previous Polydor cd –release from the early 90’s.

Woofus, that’s a great show from 1974 with Bill Connors on guitar. I recently managed to get a copy of this entire footage (about 44 minutes long) in pristine quality from a German source.
