Studs Terkel dies
The author-radio host-actor-activist and Chicago symbol has died. "My epitaph? My epitaph will be 'Curiosity did not kill this cat,'" he once said.

His first book, 1957, Giants of Jazz.
Inspired by a childhood fascination with jazz, Terkel uses firsthand interviews with artists such as Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker to tell the human stories behind the heroes that shaped this uniquely American music form.
