I'm blessed and fortunate in this regard, Woody. I have learned over time that Billy is a man who's trust you must earn.
And doing it takes a bit more time than with most I have come to know. I feel honored to be among those he calls friend.

The S.F. bay area is so musically alive and vibrant. Musically, there's something very cool going on here all the time.

I feel very fortunate to be able to live here.

I always wanted to play one
of Billy's tuned snares. He
just does it the best.

Pete, when's the last time you've actually played a real set of drums? Do you have anything recorded that you can post?

The week I broke my wrist, I was
scheduled to meet and play with
a local great, here and we were
going to play together (two drum-
ers), recording and video-taping
the whole event. I was looking
forward to it. I am still coming
back and hope to get on a set.

My approach is so radically dif-
ferent than it used to be and
I so want to see the results on
the acoustic kit. Believe me, I
will let you know, first, when I
can and it is finally done.

PS: I would love to do this with
an acoustic kit:

There's an old phrase we used to use in my neighborhood back in the day, Pete:

"Ain't nothin' to it but to do it."

As soon as I heal, I will be, Don and
again, you will be the first to see it.
I look forward to the much more for-
giving rings and soft touch.

Stephane,

Check out Conexion Latina. They have
lots of tunes worth thinking and playing
with, to get started:

Another one to look up is The Spanish
Harlem Orchestra:

I will make sure to wear a soccer jersey
from one of my favorite players and play
traditional, both hands.

You will love working some
like this out for this tune:

It was some of the most fun,
working on tunes like this.

I started a new thread.

Don Philly is not like it use to be, where you could run into a musician at every corner. San Fran, on the other hand has always been alive with music. Now we have some clubs left, with live music, but nothing like it use to be. Musicians would get together and jam out in the park, them days are long gone.
