Same to you Don, and everyone else here. Unfortunately I have to go to Gary Indiana, because my grand mom has died, she was here here in Philly from around 1948 until about 2 years ago. So now I have no more grand parents, lost my other grand mom in 2003, I was taking care of her. Life is short, you are not here that long.

Hi Nephew Don. Please forgive me for jumping in here with prayerful thoughts toward Lewis (a/k/a “Spanky”), but I went to sleep last night and awoke this morning with the following on my heart. A very wise man (Solomon) was inspired to write that we have “eternity” in our hearts - so that even during our temporary lives we’ve yet to discover what God has done, is doing and will yet do. Sobering, isn’t it?

Spanky, whenever you’re able to read this, I trust that the mourning you and family are suffering now will soon turn into the Joy that comes in the Morning (no typo). The following Scriptures have sustained me to weather the same loss of family members; but with Hope that we’ll see them again (somehow and somewhere). I hope my timing comes across to you as both empathetic AND correct: to encourage you and your loved ones in your grief. This is my sole motivation, and nothing else Lewis. When engrafting the following, kindly muse on the ministry that you will serve to comfort those very close to you at this time in your life:

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil--this is the gift of God. [Ecclesiastes 3-13; New International Version]

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?" For it is not wise to ask such questions. Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun. Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor. Consider what God has done: Who can straighten what he has made crooked? When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future. [Ecclesiastes 7-14; New International Version]

Take heart Lewis, as I trust you will.

Have a Blessed Holiday Season Everyone. You are All very dear to me within our community here at the behest of Billy Cobham. As much as anything else, Keep Stickin and making Great Music!

Sorry for your loss Spanky. Know she's in a better place, looking down and watching out for you, as you looked out for her, during her time on this earth.

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year to all!

My wish is that I get to meet all of you in person some day, get to shake your hands and be proud and happy to call you my friends.
