The Musicians Union

Just thought I post this stuff that I was looking at today. Check out the answers.

Content List

My booking was done over the phone and I have no contract or confirming letter...

I am part of a band but we have decided to split up...

I haven't been paid for a gig that I did...

I've been booked by an agent on behalf of someone else...

I'm performing cover versions live...

I was at a gig and had equipment stolen ...

My neighbours are complaining about my practising my instrument ...

I've just done a session and been told to invoice a company ...

I've written a song/recorded a demo tape ...

I've co-written a song with somebody ...

Somebody wants to record my song, but I don't have a publisher ...

What are the standard royalties paid by a record/publishing company?

What about our band's name, how do we protect or copyright that?

I want to use a sample of somebody else's recording on my record / I want to do a cover version ...

I'm only using a few notes of an existing recording ...

What sort of legal advice does the Musicians' Union give to its members?

» Hey Guys, I am new here, just thought I would contribute. I know many Bands and Musicians that are trying to get their heads around the whole marketing online scenario. There is a short ebook on this website that gives you piles of information and links
