Well that was Gary Foote on bass to Billy's left, who was part of Billy's touring band in 1987. What those clowns playing the marlboro theme were about , I don't know. Looked to me like they just edited Billy's part with the marlboro theme. I never heard of the show DOC.

Maybe I'll try contacting the poster and see if I can trade for it. Perhaps Billy would remember what that was from. Peace, TED

Ted,

I don't know if you noticed, but Billy plays the marlboro lick at the end of his solo and then the other band joins in. What was kind of funny was the confused look on Billy's face before he started playing.

Here's a clip of Billy rehearsing at Ronnie Scotts for a later show that day this past March 9th.. Love the carniVal groove!

Excellent solo from Billy.

He was probably waiting just to be cue to start playing at this, aparently, Italian LIVE recorded musical program (with a touch of "comedy").

Best regards!

Some of the most ferocious Cobham I've seen on youtube:

And the synergy with George Duke is so apparent . . .

Absolutely correct Alex!

My sentiments exactly... he was wondering how to merge his musical expression into what those who likely played something so 'foreign' to the roots.

Hey, if you are 'original,' then it is guaranteed someone will copy you.

You go Billy! Cool Cool Cool
