It was the first time i saw Boomer playing his signature set. And it still was quite impressive even though i've been Billy's fan for over 20 years now and have seen the man in almost every possible musical situation ! The band's sound was very good. The drums (toms) sounded fantastic though the snare drum (not Billy's signature) almost killed my ears
and the ride cymbal hardly cut through the full sound of the band.
Sorry, Ted, but i saw Camelia Ben Naceur only from the back so i can't judge her beauty
But she's certainly delivered some amazing playing (especially on the tune featuring her charming intro together with the violin which reminded me one of my band's tunes ) as did all the musicians. And i really love the music from "Palindrome". It was quite a surprise to hear Stratus played very slowly at the beginning before it went back to its natural tempo. At the encore Billy introduced an Israeli guitar player (again, female
) and they've finished the set with Red Baron.
I also took my wife with me to the concert so she could finally see the man in flash after so many years of me driving her crazy with "...look what a wonderful solo", "... Billy has a new book/album" or ".. Billy is coming to Israel again!"! Her comment: "Billy is so cute"
Well, all i can say is that she understands drummers
This was also the first time that i couldn't stay after the show to say hello. Billy was busy signing CDs and it was great to see so many people standing in line. I have learned my "Palindrome" copy already so we went home to release the babysitter. Here's another picture which i couldn't help taking at the end of the show
