Here's a videoclip from Marco Minneman's dvd. An excellent drummer, who was Dream Theater's second choice for their new drummer.

Kind regards,

Says Tim Landers

I assume thats the Bass player
that played with Billy Cobham 1980.

Technically, Marco is very exciting. Musically, he's just plain boring i.m.o.
I get no emotional stimulation from him at all.

Lot's of cool tricks though!

Maybe I'm just getting old, but when I see many of these newer players like Marco, Thomas Lang and others I hear a zillion notes, poly-rhythms, syncopation, dexterity and chops galore, yet I don't hear any music. Of course, a lot of the new fusion strikes me the same way. Where are the compositions of RTF, MO, JLP and Passport, et al?

I hear Benny Greb and I hear music. Unique music. With many other newer players, not so much. And they are influencing an entire generation of players to play tons of notes, but not necessarily music.
