Imported from Japan.

Ndugu & The Chocolate Jam Co.
The Spread Of The Future

Epic-Sony release

It is a Funk recording
but on the Suite Chocolate track
it concludes with some
super fine jazz drumming (that conclusion alone is what makes this recording special)
the 16mins Track (at 4:30 left )it goes into jazz drumming & then roto toms funk conclusion.
with George Duke, Ronnie Foster on Moogs and keyboards
Bryon Miller on Bass,
Al McKay & David T. Walker on Guitars
vocal tracks with Ndugu ,out of key on one track 5 only,
and Co- Vocals by Virginia Ayes & Leo Miller.
John Barnes & Greg Phillinganes - Keyboards.
That ending instrumental piece on a 24bit CD is what makes this a Jazz CD.

The Duke/Ndugu combination certainly did yield some incredible music. That era was a wonderful time for me, musically speaking.

Pete, NDugu will be one of the featured drummers at Modern drummer Festival being held in Purchase, NY. So if you need another reason to return to the big Apple, that could be in your itinerary. Simon Phillips will be there too btw. Peace, tED
