Bravo, bravo and another BRAVO!

See, That's what I'm talking about!
Here's a young man that has chops
for days, but without using them to
stomp on everyone else. His 'unleashing'
was strategically and tastefully placed.
He knows when to be in and he knows
when to be out... I'm sorry, but guys
like Tony Royster and Eric Moore could
really learn something from listening to
this young man's approach to making
MUSIC!

Wait a minute... I ain't sorry!

Thanks for posting, Suss!

Uncle, I got your CD all prepared for
mailing and misplaced it somewhere.
I'll get it out to you as soon as I locate
it.

Thanks for posting the videos of this young man. He's doing a great job. My ears weren't blistered 12 seconds into the clips.

Another thing, I've had my eyes on Meinl cymbals
for awhile now. I'm really liking what they've been
producing lately. Price wise they're not that bad
either by comparison. I really like Zildjian splash
cymbals. But I just cant justify paying $125.00
(Sale price) for a 6" splash. Meinl makes a really
nice 16" crash for the same price. And I checked
out a set of hi hats of theirs that were killer.

Yeah, I'm really digging the sound of these Meinls.

My first exposure to Chris Coleman was about a year ago. I think it was a Modern Drummer festival. The thing I remember most was his smile. Just seems like a real happy guy, which is nice to see when there's so much "attitude" out there today.

That was actually a strange mix on that set. The music was pretty dominant. It seemed like some of the mics weren't even on, especially on that 16" floor.

Cymbal prices. Most of us here can actually remember when they were affordable. Copper. Copper shot through the roof. Trucking costs. All gets passed on to the consumer.

Admittedly these days, I'm not out there performing as a career pursuit; but it's when a pair of drum sticks get in my hand is the moment the music comes to me and my chops through muscle memory. Gosh, it's been a full 50+ years I've been tweaking the drum kit.

Also, unless I have a full afternoon tweaking cymbals, there's no point in me thinking about their costs. It's the sound that matters to me and the music toward which they are being played.

It's all about the music as "we" brand it.

In the meantime, I figured you would like Chris's performances. I'm proud of the young man, because his dynamics are on point... musically speaking.

Yeah, well you can spend all day tweaking cymbals
at the music store, but it takes $$$ to get them
from the store to your rehearsal floor! You find
something you like and don't have the money to
pay for it, that just adds up to a wasted afternoon.

Maybe one day if I should have the
luxury of being a money bag like you
and Ted, or get a lucrative endorsement
deal, then I won't have to worry about
cost... But until then, das what it be like!
