I am not sure why Ebay sellers embarrass themselves buy putting up auctions like this, but here you go:

Terry Bozzio's DW kit used on a 2012 UK reunion tour, given to him free of charge by DW to use for the tour,
it can be yours now for the bargain price of only $38,549.00...who will be first to jump into the pool..Lol !!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DW-Terry-Bozzio-U-K-2012-Reunion-Drumset/290977815057?_trksid=p2045573.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D298%26meid%3D1681721936640049978%26pid%3D100034%26prg%3D1079%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D321211177167%26

You would think people would get wise to this by now, this is almost like holding someone up with a gun for their wallet.
Drum companies should ask for the kits back from the endorsers when they are done with them.

I believe it is being sold by Terry's drum roadie, through a drum shop Ebay account.

I'd say 38.5k seems high, but still. 50 signature cymbals? Figure 10k just for those. Used for just a few dates? 22 top-of-the-line DW drums, custom rack and hardware? Because I make my own drums and know what it costs to make drums, yeah 28k is high, but DW drums are pricey.

What would be a more realistic price, though? Plus they get delivered anywhere in the US and set up for you?

Some doctor or lawyer that's a Bozzio fan will scoop them up.

Hmmm. Considering what a 6 pc. Yamaha Phoenix set of
drums would cost you, ($9,000) definitely without cymbals
and probably without hardware, looking at all this stuff here
I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

My point was, who has that kind of spending money laying around to suddenly spend on a high cost item like this?
$38,549.00 is more like someone's life's savings, Terry didn't pay a cent for this stuff and someone is going to fork up that
kind of cash for this kit?...It just doesn't make any sense.

To each his own, but I can't imagine that this will sell any time soon, it is a nice fantasy item,
that's why it has 88 watchers, but if you check their bank accounts, they couldn't even afford one of the bass drums..Lol.

I agree with you, drumman.  My point is by comparison
to a brand new, high end kit like the Yamaha Phoenix, you're
really getting a pretty good deal here.  If a 6pc. Phoenix kit
with no cymbals and hardware will cost you 9K, imagine what
one would cost with this setup configuration.  I would guess at
least double.  Billy plays a 10 pc setup.  Imagine  the added cost
of cymbals, hardware and a rack system to boot.  You're probably
very near the cost of this Bozzio kit with nowhere near the amount
of gear.

22, drums, 50 cymbals, 9 pedals, 2 gongs plus hardware.

It's ALL overpriced.  I'm just saying that considering all things being
relative, this really isn't that bad.  Also, it's a one off, performed on
by Terrie Bozzio for a specific music tour which automatically adds to
the value.  These factors make such a deal a potentially lucrative
investment for the investor.  Can you imagine what one of the original,
iddy-biddy Ludwig drum sets of Ringo Starr from the Beatles or an old
Slingerland that was owned and played by Buddy Rich would cost?

The Phx. you order at Yamaha doesn't carry the same exclusivity.
It's just business, man.

Also keep in mind, drumman that some people have money to burn
and this is a mere drop in the bucket for them.  This'll get snagged
by someone for sure... Though it could be awhile. Neutral

I do see his point. If Bozzio got the setup for nothing (Sabian and DW) to use for a clinic tour or whatever, then how is it a drum shop is selling it and making the profit? If Terry gave the set to his roadie and the guy wants to sell it, what can you say? It actually would make more sense that Sabian and DW get such gear back to dispose of as they see fit. Unless Bozzio has a contract stating all gear is his.

I agree with Don, as well. 38.5k is not much money to people making a high six figures a year.

Some rich guy that always wanted to play drums but got a job at Apple computers instead, will probably buy the drums, have them set up in his play room in his mansion,
and fiddle around with them from time to time- then sell them 10 yrs later for even more money...Evil or Very Mad

Considering the circumstances, Asaph,  I would guess the
kit was Terry's to do with as he pleased. In which case
whoever got the kit is perfectly within their right to
exploit it as they see profitable.  However ethical it is, is
debatable I guess.

As a drum set however this would serve me a heck of
a lot better than a genuine Ringo or Buddy kit.  On the
other hand, as an investor, that could be a whole different
matter.

Again, it's business.

Your right D. it's all in good fun, it's probably is a good deal considering the amount of equipment
you are getting with the kit.

Here is another Ebay kit for sale, this time an Alex Van Halen replica kit from 1984, but nowhere near as expensive.

Man, that's one ugly set of drums...

As to the price, Keep in mind that the difference
between the price on this set and the price on the
Bozzio set is this one's a starting bid and the Bozzio
is a "buy it now" purchase.

So, assuming some will bid on this set the price will
increase. Though I hardly believe it'll reach anywhere
near 38 grand.

I recall the drummer for Alice Cooper, back in the 70's, had a set with mirrors on it. They were smaller and covered the set much more neatly. Still gaudy, imo. This ebay set looks looks sloppy by comparison. And it's a replica set? Why would that carry any special price tag or auction outcome? It isn't Van Halen's set. It's only worth whatever materials went into it at a used price.

Now THAT auction IS a laugh.

If I had 38.5k hanging around I'd get Bozzio's set. Always wanted a chrome set. Of course, I'd have to build an addition somewhere to set it up, LOL.
