I don't know about Carl Palmer, but on bar 13 (and end of bar 12 - only two sixteenths) of the solo, Buddy Rich shows Billy Cobham's influence Very Happy

I was lucky enough to see Buddy Rich live in 1972.
I've never seen anyone that can kick a big band like him, ever since.
Buddy was truly one of a kind, even with all his idiosyncrities. Cool
