Paco Sery

Having heard of Sery, playing with Zawinul. I'd only seen a snippet or two. I happened to see this in the side bar watching something else. This guy is a monster, if you have not seen or heard him before. He just eats these drums up.

He opens with a solo around 9:25. The music begins around 7:30, just he and bassist Linley Marthe, after lengthy introductions (not in English).

Paco is a great drummer!He became famous with "Sixun", a french fusion band and then with  Zawinul .Now he leads his own band .
I saw him many times in Paris,even with Billy on a Mapex clinic during the early 90's.

Clearly, we have players that can
play and Paco's open-ness is a
treat to see perhaps inspiring.

That is my hope.

Great players and look forward to
see them in more musical settings.
