Slapped this page together a few days ago documenting 30 years back. I had been playing drums 2.5 years at 17. Very fun to share with the band; I'm still in touch with all . . .

For one of our original tunes, Firetruck, one of the sections is Panhandler from Funky Thide of Sings. We weren't so funky, but it's not how good you are, it's how good you steal. Loved that record back then and still do. I remember playing it for them in my room at home suggesting it . . . standing on red shag carpet, of course. Heck, 30 years later I'm still tryin' to get funky. Ya think 13" hats might help? Maybe if I get more roughage? I think practicing just might help.

Unfortunately, my chops haven't gotten much better after 30 years, though I trust my musicality has improved. In this solo, I incorporate playing my head while wearing a metal helmet. At 17, it's worth making certain sacrifices (hearing) in order to grab attention of budding young ladies. omg, I nearly used the word "nubile." Phew!
