Yeah he was very important, I had a imitation Les Paul, when I was in the Army, I loved that guitar lost it in a pawn shop, back in 81.

Being blessed to live a life of quality and then dying at the ripe age of 94 would be all good with me....

Rest in peace, Mr. Paul.

And may I add, that he actually got to see the impact, his invention had on the planet, I still want a real Les Paul, with a tremolo bar, a white one like the imitation one that I had. What was good about the Les Paul was that it was heavy which helped it give good sustain along with the stock humbuckers, good distortion at low input. The Les Paul has bite and gut, with a warmer tone, than a Strat. I remember when you could get a good Les Paul, for around 300 or 400 bucks, today try 2000 bucks, and up.
