Hi, guys. I am sorry for
being away for so long.

I miss you and hope to be
able to spend more time,
here, sharing drums and
life in the future.

Some of you may know but
I have a broken wrist and
a bruised eye lens and so
am a little banged up.

Believe it or not, they are
soccer related. You see,
my son played in the
Latin League, during the
summer, for the first time.
It is radically different from
the regular city league. It
is MUCH MORE intense
and well, to make a long
story short, the fathers
are all players, themselves
and I... well, during a
scrimmage... well, you
know what happened.

Anyway, I am recovering
slowly and miss you.

Catch-Up 144227

Hope to see you, again,
soon, here, at Billy's
second home.

Regards,

I know, right?

rabbit

At 50, running around with
these 35 year old fathers,
who play soccer religiously
(the league is mostly a
Mexican one and all in
Spanish) and many play
in the adult league, them-
selves, makes for an em-
barrassing experience,
despite my athletic past.

Ironically, for my son, it
turns out the Spanish he
he had taken, that he was
sure would not serve him
in the future, would turn
out to be handy.

I must say that I have fallen
for the game (literally), though,
it becoming a passion and
along with what it does for
my son and I, I would do it,
all, over, again.

The bad thing is that the
fracture is so small that it
is taking forever to heal.
As for the lens, the last
exam shows that there
was no retinal damage
and that is a good thing.
I do have what they refer
to as "floaters", however,
though there is a chance
that these might go away,
some, in the future.

Regards,

Hi Pete!

I too am missing the time spent online with you and the rest of the Community.

When we spoke by phone last week (or so), I have to admit I was both excited that you're engaged in the raising and rambling with athletics for your son. Your wrist will heal with time - and you're very fortunate about the eye injury...

Heck, I wouldn't dare do what I used to do on any soccer field when I was a goaley. I almost lost my eye too, but the foot left a bruise above the lid that can still be seen today. The sport of soccer is a demanding one - and no doubt your son will enjoy the fray!

As for you? Coach man, however tempting it is to get in the mix. As far as I'm concerned, you're already in the mix - but with a greater mission.

... sorry for all of the mixed metaphors. Catch-Up Icon_bounce

Get well soon Pete ! It sucks to discover that we can't do what we used to anymore ! I found that out a number of years ago, too. AS the saying goes, " youth is wasted on the young ". LOL

Peace, TED

I hope you get better, Pete.
Looks to be your right eye that was damaged from your picture.

Correct, Woody.

The prognosis is better
than I thought. It could
be some time before I
get rid of the floaters
but I am to have hopes,
they said.

Thanks for the well-wishes.

Regards,

Few safe things worth research to speed healing the eye:
1) digestive enzymes and Serrapeptase Enzyme
2) Taurine
3) Maybe NAC drops: http://floatertalk.yuku.com/topic/3042/t/Trialling-NAC-Drops.html

For the fracture: MSM
