Pete, that's the conversion kit I use to turn a 15" floor tom into a bass drum . . . I like it.

Recently met a mechanical engineer/drummer interested in the pedal tom project. Find one by Yamaha used if you can . . . that's a really cool picture; never knew about the Vistalite model.

One day I'd like to buy a Trick pedal; one reason is they quickly convert to cocktail and I'd like to put it on the bottom of the timp-tom.

Actually tried practicing recently for a change and realized I've been neglecting a very basic thing for decades: depressing HH and striking bass drum simultaneously. It has unlocked my mind and doubled my lifespan to 200 years.

All this talk about bass drum pedals, yet no one ever talks about HH stands . . . just got a used Axis vortex off craigslist. It's only the second HH stand of my 34 years playing drums. I was on my third old Ludwig stand and now I'm switching to Axis, but the footboard is not universal and I can't get it at the low angle I like. I was using a Speed King link on my HH stand for a very low angle. So Axis has kindly sent me parts to modify the stand . . . wish me luck, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I'm in the market for some new hats; been playing the same 22 years and it's time for some new sound. We all can use a new chick, I'm sure.

Thanks, Woof. I remember talking
about this, with you, some time ago
and I just could not get it out of my
head. I really want it. I envision
the pedal on an 18" floor-tom.

It is more than likely that I will end
up with a Trick kit, down the road. I
have a lot of ideas in my head but
I am really in a different world, as
far as sounds and sizes go, in
comparison to where I was years
and years ago.

If not Trick, then it would be that
Precision Drum Company, in
upstate NY that recovers drums
but also does acrylic.
