You know the sad thing, Pete? I literally sat and watched Alan empty out a fairly large room. They just didn't seem to grasp what he was doing. The man is so fast and clean and he makes every note count. You never hear any of the plucks. He plays beautifully, though I think most can't quite connect.
I think many, many years from now, Alan will become one of those guys that a slew of guitar players will study and talk about. There will be this buzz about him. He's probably one of those artists that people will not truly come to appreciate until he's gone, and that's a shame.
