Louis purportedly cried during this recording and you can hear him choke up . . . I know I did upon first listen and then discovered Louis did . . . and that's Lambert, Hendricks & Ross . . . lyrics written by Brubeck's wife, Iola.

I'm not sure what the status is of the Jazz Ambassador program by the U.S. State Department. As stated in the past, I think Billy Cobham would be an ideal representative in such a program, fusing humanity as well as music.

I've heard this many times; and well before you.

Brubeck morphed from his roots that were once shunned in America.

Yet I respect the man for his ability to express himself, in spite of the times when he became what we know.

Too many were marginilized during this period of time - and I needn't tell you what I speak of.
