Alex Sanguinetti to play with Barbara Dennerlein

The fourth concert in May will find place at the eboardmuseum in Klagenfurt at the Wörthersee in Austria. This is Europe's biggest museum for electronic keyboards. Barbara will be presented on May 26th. Don’t worry, she will have her own Hammond B3, and she will for sure take that instrument home again!! The Argentinian drummer Alex Sanguinetti will accompany Barbara and it will be interesting to find out how her music sounds with different drummers.



Saw this in Barbara's newsletter. Hey Alex if you're still checking in on the site, would love to hear how this concert goes and your impressions of Barbara. I love her playing and I think it will be an interesting collaboration with you !

I was looking for the address of the gig in Google and by accident ended up here, in your post, hahah

I played with Barbara already since 1987 (25 years!).

Until 1991 as the regular drummer (at least 100 gigs), then I moved to the USA (New York) and kept playing with her always flying from Manhattan, until 1992, when I moved to Argentina again. In short I played from 1987 to 1992.

Then, when I moved back to Europe (1999), I have been playing in different occasions as a sub for the new regular drummer.

Last time was somewhere in June (more or less) in 2010, and I had a great time!!

Some drummers that played with her in the past include: Wolfgang Hafner, Jojo Mayer, Mark Mondesir, Jeff Watts, Dennis Chambers, etc, there are many many more, I'm not sure who else or don't recall at the moment.

I live now in Spain (Valencia) http://www.myspace.com/clasesdebateriaenvalencia so I'm travelling from there to do two gigs in Austria.

I'm enclosing a photo from 2000 and another one from 2010. I don't have any from the 80's unfortunatelly.

I will like to also include something from 1980 that just found (I was 21 years old then), from a clinic I did in London that is a bit new on the Internet too (this subject not related with Barbara).

In this video I'm playing 4's with the late british drummer Kenny Clare.

The curiosity and relation with the site is that Billy had, a couple of months before me, in 1979, done a clinic at the same venue, Horseshoe Hotel, London.

No, I'm new to Spain, I moved September 2010, but 100% in February 2011.

I just looked up and found out is a bit over 100 miles from Valencia, but I never been there.

Hopefully she will decide to come to New York again in the near future. I've never had the opportunity to hear her live and would love to do so . It would be even greater if you were with her, of course !

Hey Alex:
Thanks for the new address details. Since I last communicated with you I've been to Mar Del Plata to see family there and performed in Buenos Aires during the same period before moving on to Monte Video,Uruguay, Porte Allegre, Brazil and Concepcion & Santiago Chile. All this happened in early 2009. Argentina was amazing and the people fantastic. I promised myself that I would try to make a football match between River Platte and Boca Juniors if they are in season when I am there for performance or when I am back in Mar Del Plata, we will see. I am hopeful to be in Valencia before the year is out and will let you know as soon as I have my itinerary.
