A lot of people felt the E.B. were too mainstream.
I absolutely loved this band and the music they
played during this fusion era. I think they were
among, if not THE pioneers of the 'precision' fusion
movement that we hear today. For me,
listening to music of this nature that allowed
you to tap your foot and even dance to if you wanted
was a breath of fresh air.
And if I recollect correctly, there wasn't a
whole lot of fusion happening during the late
80's and early 90's. There seemed to be a lot of
experimentation going on, players trying to
find a direction.
Some like Duke and Clark had really gone
mainstream and was quite successful at it.
The Electric Band put the edge back in the
music. It was a fun time for me musically
speaking.
I was at this show at the Mountain Winery
Ampitheater in the beautiful hills of Saratoga.
Wonderful, electric performance.
