I have not seen this DVD surface yet, BHM is the company producing the CD version.
I hope it will be soon, I keep checking Amazon UK.

Looking forward to getting this. I recently picked up a couple of DVDs of Billy's old bands. Pretty interesting.

I had not heard his stuff for ... many, many years, and decided to get a bunch if his CDs to listen to on a trip, including some I didn't have as LPs years ago. I still have a few to listen to. The one with the MO music and Colin Towns big band was pretty cool. For everything I listened to so far I am still liking Spectrum the best, overall.

The DVD should be available now, it is from ZYX Music, the release date is listed as March 30 2012
but I think it has been delayed. Check out their web site:

I received my copy in the mail from Amazon UK yesterday, great video!
One of Boomer's best commercially released concert videos yet....recommended.

It does not look like those Roland products. .... Actually, the contraption is shaped like a hexagon but the pads on its face are in a circular arrangement.

Here is a picture I took of Jr.'s unit when I was
a stage tech for Billy at Yoshi's Oakland 2010.

It has more patches than just steel drum sounds.

I think I have found it (thanks D. for that good photo):

It's called a PanKAT.

Never heard of that, interesting.
I lost faith in the KAT products, a owned a few of their products in the 90's.

My drumKAT pads got funny and rubber started sticking to the tip of the sticks.
Also, I had two PoleKAT's and the rubber liquefied and melted on both of them when I had them
in storage. I had to throw them out.

Maybe Alternate Mode has improved the product since then, but I am still somewhat skeptical after
losing money on their stuff in the past.

Yes The Rolands are far better
as they do so much more
one is featured on the Jeff Beck Ronnie Scott BluRay gig
the Drummer (Vinnie Colaiuta) leans over to
play Tablas on track "Nadia"
at a few sections of the track,
Shows the Quality of the sound from real instruments
on his  Pro Roland.

I have an old Kat double kick trigger pad that's never given me any problems.

I had one of those, it was called the Kick Kat, that was very cool.
I have the V-Drum stuff now, I am pretty happy with the way that works.

Nice setup, drumman, I saw Dennis Chambers
demo one of these in a video.

He played to some Tom Coster backing tracks
and was killing it!

This unit sounds awesome!

I just bought the DVD
sounds great looks good via BluRay  upgraded playback
From Nov , 2010 Live in Germany

Only in Dolby 2 channel mix
I assume the 5.1 mix would cost to much, sadly.

Nice Billy Cobham Solo on 1st track Mirage.
His drums tuned in a way like No Other Drummer
Nice.

As a gig it is

10 Outta  10

Well worth buying.
